What is Auto Cropping?

examples of cropped photos from orange exposure, wedding and portrait photography, commercial and architectural photography

All the photos you see on our site will fit a 4x6" print (or 8x12" print) perfectly. However, an 8x10" print is not the same shape, so auto cropping is an option to fill an entire print. We also custom cropping through our digital retouching options for additional fee.

If you choose to crop an 8x10 it will fill the entire print with the image, but will cut off the edges, so it's best only when the subject is in the center and away from the edges.

If you do not crop an 8x10, the entire image is preserved, but white borders will be added to fill out the print. Then you can trim the print yourself or use a mat within a frame to hide the white borders.

You have the ability to "crop" the image to fill in the entire paper size by selecting the check box in the Crop column in your shopping cart.

Print sizes that we offer that are not affected by cropping include: 4"x6", 8"x12", 10"x15", 16"x24" and 20"30". Some of our gift items are odd shaped and may have to be cropped like the 4-inch picture coasters.
